This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten students at a school in the Bronx. I work in a Title I school with a variety of levels and needs in one classroom, including English Language Learners. Some of them are in school for the very first time, while some of them were previously in Pre-K.
My classroom is a place where students interact with each other to learn and grow.
We are very creative, love to read books, and like to use a wide variety of sensory materials to learn our numbers and letters! Our favorite book is Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes. We always try our best to succeed and never give up!
My Project
This project will help set my students up to be organized and successful in the new school year. They will be able to access their own pencil case which will have their new crayons and erasers. My students will keep their pencil cases in their seat sacks which will be easily accessible. This will create a sense of responsibility in each child for having to take care of their own materials. I have also requested colored folders which will be used for different subjects, in turn, keeping my students very organized. These items will be used everyday!
By having proper school supplies my students will be able to succeed in school!
