Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Kindergarten students at a school in the Bronx. I work in a Title I school with a variety of levels and needs in one classroom, including English Language Learners.
My classroom is a place where students interact with each other to learn and grow.
We are very creative, love to read books, and like to use a wide variety of sensory materials to learn our numbers and letters! Our favorite book is Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes. We always try our best to succeed and never give up!
My Project
Essential oils benefit both students as well as the teacher. There are different oils that have different purposes. For example, peppermint is a great scent to use in the morning to wake students up while lavender is a great scent for calming students down.
Oils can improve and help control classroom behavior.
By diffusing oils, it can change the mood and feel of the classroom in many ways. I believe that a diffuser and oils will bring a sense of calmness and peace to my classroom. The diffuser and oil will also be used to fight colds, energize, calm, soothe and focus! Aromatherapy will help my students immensely!
