Essential Multi-Sensory Math Materials for Special Education Classroom

My Project

These multi-sensory math materials are classroom essentials. My students are neurodivergent and participate in a self-contained special education class. The materials I requested are engaging, interactive, and provide my students with visual, tactile, and fine-motor experiences.

The sandpaper numerals provide a tactile experience for students to learn numbers 1-30.

The magnetic sorting puzzle and the tweezer games a perfect way for learning sorting and supporting their fine-motor skills. The peg boards are an engaging way for my students to learn to count with one-to-one correspondence. My students learn best when concepts are introduced through multiple modalities such as visual, auditory, and tactile experiences. That’s why these learning materials are essential for our classroom.
