This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from hardworking families on the west side of Chicago. They are incredibly bright and have an enormous capacity to learn, to work diligently, and to succeed! They take pride in their work and are very eager to learn. They are all such good friends to each other. I wish to match their incredible efforts with the best possible resources here in our learning community. This is an exciting time in my students' lifelong learning journey.

Our school is a Title I school, with 97.5% of students coming from low-income families.

The neighborhood itself is high in poverty. Due to the low income of families, my students encounter a huge struggle to get resources. They lack the basic resources at home and unfortunately, the resources available in my classroom are very limited. Please help my students become successful.

My Project

Please help me give my students, primary composition notebooks, pencils, erasers and colored pencils. These individual supplies and learning materials can be used and will be needed daily at home during distance/remote learning due to COVID-19 pandemic we are experiencing today.

Help them start this remote learning school year off right!

These learning materials will be used to create a bag of supplies for each student to have hands-on during remote learning at home. Many of my students lack the basic resources at home and their parents may not have the means to purchase necessary school supplies. Help me provide them with materials they will need. These materials will be sent home with each student to have available for distance learning/remote learning.
