My students need toothbrushes and toothpastes. Most of all, they need snacks. My students are in a high needs district so they do not bring healthy snacks or do not bring anything for snacks.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English Language Learners with autism. They are enrolled at a school in the Bronx, and they get 12 months instruction. Most of my students do not get much support in a home setting since their parents do not speak English and their economic situations do not allow them to provide healthy meals and help with their homework. Most of them do not have access to the Internet, so they depend on the public library to use the computer to complete some of their assignments.
My Project
My students are in a high needs district so they usually do not bring their own snack and if they do bring their snack, it is usually unhealthy snacks. Therefore, many teachers in my school buy snack items for their students with their own money. We really love our students, so we do not want them to be hungry while they are in school. We want them to feel that they are always welcome and safe in school. Also, many of my students come to school without brushing their teeth, so I want to work on hygiene by teaching them to brush their teeth by themselves. In result, they will be able to keep their beautiful smile forever.
