This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love being creative. There isn't a craft they haven't tried and loved. They use the Cricut we have for creating mugs, shirts, and tumblers. They love to 3-D print items like dog ID tags and phone cases. They enjoy making candles. And now...now I have some who are interested in DIY home and body care items.

In our last DC project, we received some DIY books with recipes for skin care and cleaning products and this touched off some brilliant ideas.

The recipes in these books look pretty easy to make but we definitely don't have the supplies for them. We need measuring bowls, a vacuum sealer, a scale, and other items that these recipes call for. They will be making DIY laundry detergents, skin cream, and soaps with all of them.

My students went through the books and picked ideas they thought they could benefit from because it will save them money at home, teach them a new skill, and be better for the environment all around.
