Essential Classroom Supplies

My project needs various school supplies such as: pencils, paper, erasers, markers, binders, crayons, rulers, pouches and an electronic pencil sharpener.

This project is fully funded

I am a special education teacher in rural Dillon County. I teach a self-contained class of thirteen students ranging in age from nine to thirteen years old. Free lunch in our district is at 75%. My students are from very poor backgrounds, both economically and educationally. They have a strong desire to learn, but need some assistance with school supplies. I would like for all my students to have a supply of paper and pencils to work with throughout the year. They also need pencil holders, rulers, markers and crayons. An electric pencil sharpener for the classroom would be greatly appreciated. The old fashioned type usually eats half the pencil before it can be used. The classroom has a need for construction paper and tag board for projects. The regular classes have parents who can afford extras that my students cannot afford. I want my students to be able to have the same experiences as students in the regular classrooms. With your help, they can improve their ability to complete assignments and prepare special projects. The students will be able to carry their papers and supplies in a way that will keep them clean and neat. They can be proud of their work. When they are able to have assignments that look great, they have a positive outlook and a determination to learn more. With unacceptable, dirty, or damaged work to hand in, they do not feel that they have obtained a level of success. With the needed supplies, the students will gain self esteem and increase their grades in academic subjects. Thank you for your consideration.
