My Project

In my Bronx special education classroom, my mission is to build a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, respected, and supported. We recognize that each child brings unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives, and we are committed to meeting them where they are academically, emotionally, and socially. By fostering a sense of safety and belonging, we empower our students to take ownership of their learning, build confidence, and celebrate their individuality. This space is more than just a classroom; it's a community where every voice matters and every achievement, no matter how small, is honored.

The items in this project will be used to create classroom bulletin boards that proudly display student work.

Ribbons will serve as borders and be incorporated into classroom art projects that support the development of students' fine motor skills.

In our class, students communicate by pointing to visuals such as picture symbols. A laminator will allow us to create durable and adaptable materials tailored to their unique needs.

We strive to create a space our students can truly call their own. During structured play, our students explore different toys that they enjoy using on a designated classroom rug. This rug will provide them with a consistent, comforting space where they can relax and feel grounded.

My classroom reflects the vibrant spirit of the Bronx and embraces the rich diversity of our students, their families, and the surrounding community. My goal is to build a strong foundation that empowers our students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom, reinforcing my belief that every child can succeed when provided with the right environment and support.
