This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'm a 3rd grade Spanish DI teacher, therefore I teach content primarily in Spanish. As a first year teacher I am still trying to build my classroom library but it can be very expensive. My students love to read books in English and Spanish. I only wish they had more opportunities to read Spanish books. I have a very limited selection of Spanish books. They deserve to have books available to read in a language they are learning/expanding.
Reading these Bilingual books will help students' biliteracy skills, which will benefit them now and forever. With these books we will be able to read them as a class or individually. The fact is they will have the opportunity to select a book in whatever language they want to read. The choice will be available to them.
