Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center has a growing esports team that needs a dedicated space to train and compete. The school needs an esports lab equipped with the latest gaming laptops and other essential peripherals to provide a supportive environment for the team's growth.
Esports, or competitive video gaming, is a rapidly growing industry with millions of players and spectators worldwide.
Currently, only students with gaming consoles and setups at home are able to participate and compete. We are proposing a small set of 5 gaming laptops to build out our growing program.
Students currently bring in their personal Nintendo Switch consoles, and we have set up weekly meetings and practices with old computer monitors. There is a strong interest, and we cannot provide the same experience for PC-based games.
