Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Middle school students, when invested, are the most powerful group of students out there. To get them invested, you have to go to them! Esports, competitive video games at the highest level, are something that almost every student already does. We can use them to teach valuable skills and raise students' interest in STEM.
Esports, scholastic gaming, is the way of the future: competition that any student can join.
More than half of the students at our school come from a low-income household. Many have no access to technology at home, and rely on school devices for all of their needs.
By providing an Esports lab that the students can be proud of, we can enable them skills for the future.
My Project
We want to finish our gaming lab with professional equipment. Our students currently play on their own equipment from home and 10 year old donated computers. We have secured 3 new computers, but no keyboards, mice, or controllers!
Help us give our kids access to professional equipment!
With these tools, they'll be able to learn career skills like video editing, programming, coding, and streaming. All the students will have access to a lab that they can be proud of, and that will help us take this program to the next level!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
