My Project
There are seven kids in my class that come from different countries in in the Caribbean, Cuba, Honduras, Haiti, Colombia and Guatemala to name a few. Spanish and Creole are the home languages.
Help me give my students learning English as a second language tools to increase Language and Literacy in the classroom.
In all my years of teaching, it is rare that I have so many kids that speak a second language. I am trying to make it work for them to be successful.
The Magnetic Big Alphabet ABC Cards will help them to learn the names and sounds of the letters. There is a lot of confusion between the English and Spanish pronunciation of vowels. The Write CVC Words kits will quickly help these young learners to learn the techniques, to see picture clues, tap out sounds, identify missing consonants and vowels. The movements will help solidify the sounds as they are learning.
These additional supplies will support a more inclusive and dynamic learning environment, enhancing the overall educational experience for all students. It is a big change for them to be in a new country and a new culture.
The Sports Hopping Ball for Kids, ZOOJOY Hopper Ball, Innotoys Ball and Catch Game are all fun to use and to practice their English and have a good time. An electric balloon pump will help blow up balloons for special holiday celebrations including Hispanic Heritage Month.
Finally four soccer balls for my Hispanic children to celebrate their sport from their native countries. It is a fun sport for all children and the new arrivals can teach their new friends.
