My Students

What? I have to read and write again? That is what I face each day when it comes to reading and writing with my ESL students. They struggle with these subjects, so they don't want to practice them. I need materials that I can use to engage them during class time to be better readers and writers.

My students are all at-risk struggling English as Second Language learners.

They struggle because they are all English as a Second Language students, and they don't always understand the English language. My students are from China, Yemen, Russia, and Mexico. They really try hard when it comes to learning, but they have the language obstacle to overcome. My students face many obstacles during the school day, and anything I can do to improve their skills will benefit them a great deal. They want to learn, but they don't have the materials to practice reading and writing at home.

My Project

My students are struggling with remote learning. They miss school, their friends, and the food provided to them at school. This project will allow me to provide the students with snacks and drinks that they will be able to have while they are learning at home. I will be able to provide weekly snack bags to my students. My students will be able to have toilet paper, gatorade, crackers, beef jerky, granola bars, caramels, peanut butter and cheese crackers, cookies, and apple chips to snack on while they are learning at home. This will allow my students to focus on learning instead of being hungry.
