My Project
At the High School for Service and Learning we have been receiving increasing amounts of ESL students. These students range from starting to developing levels of language skills. They are an amazing and resilient group of children who have endured a lot of hardship and still have a drive to learn. They exhibit grit and determination to better themselves in this country and we seek to support them fully. They hail from many different countries throughout Central and South America, the Caribbean, Bangladesh, Yemen, and even Ukraine.
These students truly want to fit in and become a dynamic part of our classroom culture.
These translator devices will help give them a stronger voice in class and the ability to communicate their ideas in richer detail. The devices will be used to translate instructions, allow students to speak to their peers, and compose better written answers.
