My Project
I work with a population of students who face significant barriers to accessing educational resources outside of school—especially during summer break. Many of my students live in homes without reliable internet access, which means they often go months without engaging with English language materials. For English learners, this gap can lead to serious regression, making the transition back to school even more difficult.
This project will provide iPads preloaded with high-quality, engaging English language and literacy content.
Because these iPads won’t require Wi-Fi to function, students can continue learning regardless of their home environment. They’ll have access to reading, listening, and language activities all summer long—helping them maintain and even build on the progress they've made during the school year.
For many of my students, English is not spoken at home, and the summer can represent a complete loss of exposure to the language. This project helps bridge that gap, ensuring they return to school confident, prepared, and still connected to their learning. These iPads are more than devices—they're a tool to prevent learning loss, build confidence, and give my students the equitable access they deserve.
