My students need outside field experience to further their knowledge of the STEM process and observe examples of how STEM relates to real world activities.

"Education is the most important weapon we can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela
Our ESL team is always looking for ways to incorporate language and science skills in our curriculum.
This year, we want to include reading as well as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). We believe that every student should have opportunities to learn and have and have experiences to make that possible. As teachers at school, we want to take them to have this flying experience and learn how this is possible with a wind tunnel design with STEM.
My Project
The objective of the IFly field trip in Houston uses unique vertical wind tunnel facility to make STEM exciting, relevant, and accessible to all students. The curriculum has been designed by STEM educators and scientists to support STEM learning in the classroom. This is a very neat experience for our students as they will get to experience a presentation that consists of 3 parts: a presentation of the wind tunnel, experiments with hand on activities, and the experience to go fly in the wind tunnel.
Our three ESL classes will rotate and they will have the training and have learning experiments and go fly by the end of the field trip.
