My Students
After graduating from college 20 years ago with a degree in education, I will be heading into my first year of teaching this fall! The kindergarten students I will be teaching are at the beginning of their education journey. They are eager to learn, creative, and full of joy.
Kindergarten sets the foundation and tone for each student's educational journey and their road ahead.
At this pivotal age, students learn best when they can interact, create, problem-solve, and develop skills to help them become successful life-long learners.
My Project
Kindergarten sets the educational foundation for our youngest learners for years to come. My classroom is full of diverse learners with bright and eager minds.
One of my goals this year is to have all my students leave my classroom with literacy and mathematical skills that are on or above grade level.
One of the ways for me to reach this goal is to have an assessment tool that allows me to efficiently track student data. I am requesting a year's subscription to ESGI, an online assessment tool that will help me monitor my student's academic progress. This program also provides me with the ability to pass along a student's progress to a parent or guardian. I am also requesting a kit of alphabet objects to help create a hands-on learning experience for my students and create a foundation of letter and sound recognition.
ESGi is pre-loaded with literacy and mathematical assessments. It also gives the educator the ability to create custom assessments as needed. I can quickly use this tool to monitor my student's progress. A full years subscription to ESGI will allow me as an educator to use my student's data as a stepping stone to greater educational opportunities.
