it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Special needs students with neurological differences learn best when they are exposed to hands-on opportunities. The purpose of incorporating a cricut maker in the classroom is to allow my students to explore technology by using a computer aided design while also creating activities that allows them to apply their knowledge of STEM projects (science, technology, engineering, and math) to complete a project. This also serves as a vocational training which is vital in preparing them for the workforce. Special need students (specifically higher functioning Intellectual Disabled and with Autism Spectrum Disorder), often face challenges with planning, organizing, and executing complex tasks; as well as deficits in the area of social and interpersonal skills. Most importantly, they struggle with connecting their academic work to later possible career options.
By donating to our project, you will not only help our cricut work station expand, but you will ultimately provide them with the opportunity to build on their vocational skills and open a window for their creativities to take flight.
Many valuable skills can be learned by using a Cricut Maker. The lessons using the Cricut Maker enable students to use technology in the classroom to design, cut, and press their own creations with a focus on entrepreneurship and developing business skills. These skills can be applied in school and as an adult. These skills are useful throughout all subjects and develops their creativity and can prepare them for a variety of careers.
