it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Middle School students love to be ENTERTAINED! By funding Escape Room Round-Up!, you will supply me with all the materials and props needed to write my own Escape Room challenges and simulate real-world scenarios, making their learning experience more relevant and applicable to everyday situations.
Students thrive when tasked with Escape Rooms, because they require students to work together, fostering communication, delegation, and the ability to leverage each other's strengths to achieve an exciting goal.
The puzzles and challenges within Escape Rooms demand students to think critically, analyze clues, prioritize tasks, manage their time, and develop creative solutions.
Working within a middle school mathematics intervention classroom, with students who are years behind their peers, presents a unique challenge in that my students are often disenchanted with school. They have a fixed mindset and believe they are (and always will be) bad at math. Implementing Escape Rooms offers a unique, interactive experience that moves beyond traditional passive learning methods, making the learning process more engaging and memorable, where students WANT to be successful!
This project will fund all the props, lock boxes, puzzles, decoders, ciphers, puzzle pieces, and materials to organize the clues ensuring adventure every time!
I preach the importance of perseverance, resilience, and the ability to remain focused even when faced with difficult tasks, especially in math class. My hope is the gamified nature of Escape Rooms will allow my students to learn in a fun and engaging way, reducing their stress, and increasing their motivation.
