Escape from Equation Island

Help me give my students a hands-on activity to review math practices by utilizing materials to escape an escape room!

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where each lock, box, and clue will be placed to transform our classroom into an immersive math escape room. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The lockable boxes and puzzles will be set up around the room to create different stations for students to explore. The combination locks, directional locks, and UV flashlights will be used to solve math-based challenges that lead to the next clue. The invisible ink pens and clue cards will add an element of mystery and excitement, encouraging students to think critically and work together. The timer will help them manage their time and stay focused as they race to “escape” before it runs out. Organizational bins will hold the supplies and clues between uses so the game can be easily reset for different groups. The donations to this project will help improve my students' engagement with math through real-world problem solving, teamwork, and persistence.

By implementing this escape room experience, my students will begin to see math not as worksheets and numbers, but as a tool for discovery and adventure.
