I am a Title I kindergarten teacher working in Detroit, Michigan. I have 25 of the most eager students who just LOVE Eric Carle. I am doing an author study with my students, and I am in need of new Eric Carle books for my lesson and to add to my classroom library. With author studies, students learn to compare and contrast themes, analyze text and illustrations, and make connections between an author's life and his/her work and between the author's work and the reader's own life and work. I find Eric Carle one of the most inspiring author/illustrators to present to kindergarteners.
