Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up, " A. A. Milne once said, and I agree. My students are eager to learn and we are currently working on fine tuning their organizational skills.

I work with a large culturally and linguistically diverse group of learners.

I work with students with autism, students with specific learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, and students who may benefit from small group interventions. Close to 90% of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, and about 60% of our students are English language learners.

My Project

My students work in small centers throughout the day. I would like for each center to be equipped with all the tools they need to be able to successfully complete their work. Each center will include a pencil case, a set of highlighters, pens, a ruler and erasers. The erasers, pens, and highlighters will be stored in a pencil bag. The pencil bag will always remain on the center of each table, ready to be use when it is time for my students to begin their class work. When it is time to switch centers, my students will have the resources at their disposal. They will not be wasting time looking for a pen or pencil. I feel that organizing these materials this way will cut down on instructional time being lost looking for a ruler or eraser.

Please help my students by contributing to 9 sets of highlighters, 9 pencil cases, 4 sets of pens, 9 rulers, and 4 sets of erasers for the new school year.

These resources will help my students become organized and ready to learn. These items are important for my students to become lifelong learners.
