My Students

Hello Generous Donors,

I teach first grade in a low-income neighborhood in the heart of Philadelphia.

My classroom this year is MTSS friendly and will have 24 enthusiastic learners, each will be on a different learning level, and I will need to think of creative ways to engage them and keep them focused.

Despite the adversity of the harsh area that surrounds our school and many of their homes, I am in constant awe of the resilience that they show. They come to school wanting to learn and shouldn't let something small like not having a pencil keep them from having their best day.

Our classroom is a safe place where all of my students are encouraged to be themselves and have fun while learning. Because of this, they look forward to coming to school every day.

My Project

Thank you for the continued support of both me and my classroom.

These supplies are things that we will use every day in our class.

Pencils, erasers, and paper are an integral part of our learning. We need them to complete our worksheets that help reinforce our day's lessons.

The laminating sheets and copy paper will be used to create centers for my students to reinforce what they are learning in class. The copy paper will also be used to print out homework, daily lessons, and notes to go home to parents.

The magnetic letters will be used in a Literacy Center. The students will build words with them to help reinforce their Phonics lessons. And the chart paper will be used to create anchor charts that will hang in our room to remind the kids of past lessons.
