My students need a 48x72" dry erase board for the front of our room.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the days of using chalk? That scratchy, dry feeling that ran through your body when your teacher's nails accidentally ran across the board is something most of us can probably remember. Our board is not only uncomfortable to write on, but it's cracked too.
My students are the best.
Many of them come from homes where English is not the first language. Others come from homes where they don't have much support with their work, but they all try their best. Last year our school became a magnet school for communication, journalism, and multimedia. We have focused on writing and technology. The students have created picture books, graphic novels, and digital movies. When it is time to share their work we have to project their creative projects on a dirty, old board.
My Project
Our class was fortunate enough to be chosen to receive a wall mounted projector. The problem we now face is that we have no board to write on. We had to cover our chalkboard with white paper so that the projector can be used. A 48x72: dry erase board would solve all of our problems. We would be able to not only project on the board, but be able to write, underline, or highlight over work being projected. All of the students would be able to see more clearly and would have the opportunity to come up and show their work on the board.
Right now we are so thankful for the projector we received.
We only wish that we could make better use of the space. A dry erase board would be the key to making our classroom most effective. Numerous students could come up and work on a board that large. Please help make our dream a reality.
