Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When our future KG come to Kindergarten Round, the students will receive these activity bags. In the activities bags, will be information about negative use excessive technology and also positive bonding. There will be information in there about benefits of reading. The parents can also then use these bags when they go out to restaurants, etc or need to help keep their children entertained when they are not home.
The longer term goal of this project would then have opportunities to continue to engagement parents in conversations about screen time and safe technology usage.
I hope through this project when children come to KG they will be able to be more engaged, have better attention spans, less anxiety, increases SEL skills, and be more academically prepared for school. I love the building I work in and the students I work with. I work in a Title I building that is about 85% Hispanic and about 96% free/reduced lunch. I think our students are kind to other students no matter what they wear or how they look. Our students are very accepting of others' differences and I love that about them.
