My Project
Feeling a sense of belonging is so important for children! Our school regularly sends home order forms for parents, guardians or family caregivers to purchase school spirit wear t- shirts. But imagine if those adults are not able to afford such purchases for their children. Imagine how those students feel while watching classmates wear school spirit wear on special days knowing their family can not afford to purchase these items for them. This project is designed to provide equity for these students. Over 50 percent of our kindergarten through 5th grade student body is elgible for free breakfast and lunch in our school. Purchasing school spirit wear is viewed as a luxury that these families can not afford. Your donation will help to purchase the materials (t-shirts and heat transfer vinyl) needed for our staff to make school spirit wear t-shirts in a variety of sizes to provide to students in need via a newly created "School Spirit Wear Clothing Closet" in our school. Our goal is that no fifth grade student moves onto sixth grade without wearing a school spirit t-shirt. We are hoping that you will help us with this goal.
