Equity Through Access: Empowering District 75 Students with Technology
Help me give my students ELA: Online research, collaborative Google Docs for writing workshops, podcast storytelling, digital journals.
Math: Interactive graphing tools, coding logic puzzles, math apps (like Desmos or Khan Academy).
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For over 20 years, I have proudly served students in District 75 — students with unique abilities, needs, and strengths. I’ve witnessed firsthand their resilience, grit, and determination. Despite facing challenges many of us cannot imagine, they show up every day, ready to learn, grow, and connect.
What we don’t have — and what our students urgently deserve — is access to modern technology.
In a world where nearly every aspect of life requires digital literacy, our students are being left behind. We are inadvertently setting them up to fail by denying them the tools that others take for granted.
This grant seeks funding for 12 laptops to be used during school hours. With access to this technology, our students will be able to engage in digital learning, improve literacy and life skills, and feel that they are being treated fairly — like every other student in every other school
