This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each year we have students who are unable to purchase their class sketchbook for art class. Please help my students be prepared for the new year.
In our classroom we use this sketchbook as a resource for practice, study notes, project planning, and artistic reflection.
It is vital that my students have mixed media sketchbooks so that they can practice not only drawing techniques but also incorporate collage and wet-media techniques.
Sketchbooks are the most expensive item on our supply list but they are also not in the general school supply section so it is the greatest challenge for my students. Providing these high-quality sketchbooks for my students who are not able to get one on their own will bring equity and mercy into the first weeks of school. What a way to start the new school year!
