My kids are ready for the new school year and they are super excited to start their adventures in 2nd grade!
They are incredibly talented, imaginative, and are motivated to learn despite of linguistic barriers. My students are from a multi-linguistic background in a Title 1 school in Brooklyn, NY.
My Project
I am a first year teacher preparing my classroom for all different types of learners. Unfortunately, my school does not have a color printer and the copier is often inaccessible. This printer will enable my students to see themselves in the daily classroom environment with on the spot printing and copying. The printer will be used to print pictures for document boards, science projects, and meaningful bulletin boards in which students see themselves as learners. Using a color printer will help all different types of learners and enable for better communication through pictures/diagrams for my group of ELLs. The printer would also allow me to send home notes, pictures from the classroom, and special awards to celebrate small victories. Lastly, the printer will help me create an inviting environment through colorful pictures. I wish to motivate my students and get them excited about learning from the get go!
