Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are diverse and over 70% of them come from low income homes. This project provides equity in the form of access to pens, pencils, sharpeners, and printing during the school year. I am a Drawing and Painting teacher, but I also provide help where it's needed.
I love being able to put the right tools in to the hands of my students.
'Yes, you may have a pencil,' is a great way to get the morning started. 'Yes, you may print your report for English.' I try to give the green light to all of my students so that coming to school empty handed is never an issue. We strive to give them all the same access to the education.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
