Equitable Opportunities for Students with Autism by a First-Year Teacher

My Project

In my first-year of teaching, I have learned the many essential needs of my six students with autism. They value creativity in the form of coloring, sensory bags, and role playing, as well as coming together as a group to share greetings and have morning meeting. As students with autism, they struggle with developing life skills on their own. Therefore, providing them with opportunities to express themselves in various ways, such as positive play with others and arts-and-crafts activities, is essential for their growth as individuals.

This project will allow my students to thrive with interpersonal relationships and improve their abilities to have fun and meaningful experiences in my classroom.

All students deserve the best learning experience possible, and I hope to provide this to my students with autism with your help!
