My Students

I work in the library of a very diverse high school. My students range in age from 15-19 in grades 9-12. Students are allowed to use the library all day long with a pass. They have time to come in before school, during classes, and during lunch.

Here a WGHS, we want to develop a culture of fairness and equity.

Western Guilford Media Center will host and facilitate a book club to help develop the desired culture.

My Project

Teachers at Western Guilford High School will attend a professional development book club based on fairness and equity. This book club will allow teacher to take what their have learned through their readings back to their class rooms.

In developing a fair and equitable culture, we must focus on knowing our students and their academic barriers.

Western Guilford Media Center will host this professional development book club. Teachers will read Stamped and Browning of the New South to open up conversations on those touchy areas of equitable access and fairness among all students.
