This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The TREND is a student's FRIEND and additional technology is a necessity in Room 202. With limited learning time and technology in the classroom and 22 students, the 2 iPads will accomplish and address this issue in our classroom at this present time.

My students are 3rd grade eager kids from West Texas and come from a low socio-economic background where technology resources is a high need.

They are struggling in reading, including their math skills. These are students where technology is not easily accessible in their homes. Even if they did, only a few students have the right technology. Our kids have the potential to be movers and shakers of society given the opportunity to be exposed and explore with the given iPads to further also research and expand their horizons.

My Project

Exposure to technology is limited inside the classroom which my students compete for time and scheduling. This in turn take away time to tasks my students needed to accomplish for the day. However, the use of iPads would increase and create ample opportunities and time to practice their reading and math skills simultaneously about 7 students at a time using apps that would take them to the next level. As an extension, they can also listen to audio books especially students with special needs or students needing extra time. As a class, we can also maximize our research on a given topic and also start learning other applications, such Microsoft apps, creating art, take pictures, edit and publish them for the class. With technology, the choices are endless. Most of these will be done during their free choice time. It would be a joy to have a technology-driven and student-inspired classroom.

This project has been created to help and make students respond and rise from the challenges of their time and make them competent, equipped, and ready individuals to conquer the world.

In effect, they are our future leaders in science and technology because this project would help them pursue their dreams. WE can't deprive them of this privilege to impact our world. Let them be the CHANGE this world we want them to see and become.
