This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am very excited to meet my new students this September as we are both new to first grade! I want to make sure they have all the tools they need to have a successful academic year.
I am asking for donations to get my students wire baskets to store their books and pencil bags under their chairs.
This past school year, students were storing all of their supplies in their seat sacks but their seat sacks were worn and heavy, making their chairs fall back and difficult to move around. I searched for solutions online and found that some teachers attached wire baskets under their students chairs with zip ties for additional storage.
The seat sacks that I am requesting will replace our worn out ones and will be used for students to store their folders and lighter work. The pencil cases will help store their writing tools in one place. The other supplies requested such as markers and stickers will be used during our small group lessons.
This project specifically focuses on acquiring storage items that will benefit both students and teachers alike. By having a well-organized, we can enhance students' focus, simplify transitions, and maximize instructional time.
