My Project
My goal is simple: to empower students to become confident, lifelong readers who can navigate the world of words with ease. With your support, I will be able to create a learning environment where every student feels seen and capable. Your contribution of whisper phones and color overlays will directly impact their ability to decode, read fluently, build vocabulary, and truly make meaning of the texts they encounter.
Middle school students in reading intervention face a variety of challenges that require tailored support.
Some students have specific learning disabilities that directly impact their ability to decode and comprehend text, while others are still grappling with the lingering effects of COVID-related setbacks on their educational progress. Additionally, some students simply need an extra boost of support to get on track. By addressing these diverse needs, we can provide each student with the tools and strategies necessary to overcome their unique obstacles and thrive in reading.
Whisper phones minimize auditory distractions, enabling students to focus better on decoding and reading fluently. Color overlays reduce visual stress, allowing students to more easily build vocabulary and comprehend the material. These tools are not just resources; they are keys to unlocking the full potential of every student in my middle school reading intervention class.
