Help me give my students the tools to be creative thinkers, organized learners, and prepared to be college and career ready.

My Project

Two key building blocks of school success are the ability of a student to organize themselves and the development of critical thinking skills. Organizational problems can cut across all ability levels. Some students may have well-developed academic skills but get failing grades when it comes to organization. It is especially important that my fifth-grade students hone their organization skills because they will be expected to keep track of their assignments and school responsibilities with little teacher assistance next year when they enter middle school. Research shows that creativity isn’t just great to have; it’s an essential human skill — perhaps even an evolutionary imperative in our technology-driven world. A majority of college-educated professionals say creative thinking is critical for problem-solving in their careers. The promotion of creativity is a way to help students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By focusing on these areas, I aim to equip my students with the tools they need to succeed academically and in their future careers, fostering their growth as well-rounded individuals.

The items requested in this grant will play a crucial role in supporting my students' organizational, learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as enhancing our overall classroom environment.

Folders will be an essential tool to help my students keep their assignments, worksheets, and other important papers neatly organized. Chair back pockets will provide a convenient storage solution for my students to keep their folders, books, and other learning materials organized and within reach. Both of these tools will help minimize distractions and allow my students to stay focused during lessons by having everything they need readily available. These resources will create a more efficient, engaging, and supportive learning environment, ultimately contributing to the academic and personal growth of each student.
