My Project
In our social studies classroom, we bring the ancient world to life through hands-on, creative projects that make history meaningful and memorable. With the help of basic classroom essentials, such as paper, markers, glue sticks, colored pencils, and other art supplies, my students dive deep into civilizations by stepping into the shoes of the people who lived them. Projects like “A Day in the Life of an Egyptian” have students creating illustrated journals and artifacts that reflect the daily routines, beliefs, and surroundings of ancient Egyptians. These materials will also support our Greek mythology unit, where students create their own gods or goddesses and write original myths that reflect the themes and structure of the ancient stories.
Through colorful illustrations, decorative scrolls, and custom-designed symbols, students breathe life into their characters and bring creative storytelling into historical study.
These kinds of projects build critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills.
