My Project

What I Love About My Students

What I love most about my students is their enthusiasm, resilience, and the energy they bring into the classroom daily.

No matter what they face outside of school, they show up eager to learn, ready to participate, and full of potential. They inspire me with their curiosity and desire to grow as readers and thinkers. Each student brings something special to our learning community, and I am proud to guide and support them on their academic journey.

Why Essentials Matter

To help my students succeed in reading, they need bare classroom essentials like notebooks, pencils, highlighters, sticky notes, folders, and dry-erase boards. Although these materials may seem simple, it play a massive role in how students engage with the text, organize their thoughts, and express their understanding. Students with consistent access to these supplies are more prepared, confident, and focused during lessons.

How Essentials Support Reading Skills

Classroom essentials allow students to take meaningful notes, highlight key details, annotate passages, and track their progress in a way that supports comprehension. For example, using sticky notes to mark important parts of a story or highlighters to identify figurative language helps students interact actively with what they’re reading. These small tools encourage deeper thinking and stronger reading habits. More importantly, having their materials gives students a sense of ownership and pride in their learning.

Building Equity and Confidence

When every student has access to the same resources, it creates an equitable learning environment where no one feels left out or behind. Classroom essentials level the playing field and convey that every student’s learning matters. By providing essentials, we are not just giving students supplies but the foundation they need to grow and believe in themselves.
