This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a coach in a low-income/high poverty school district. I teach Physical Education (P.E.) and also coach volleyball, girls basketball, and girls track.

My students are very compassionate and eager to learn something new each and every day!

In the short time since school started, I have grown to love them for their individual personalities. They are eager to come to class and practice. They truly work hard each and every day.

Most of them are being raised in households by a single parent and are eligible for free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. I want them to have the normal experiences that every child should experience, without regards to their home environments.

My Project

During volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track season, we as a team do a lot of traveling. My athletes have several belongings that they are carrying around on a day to day basis. Things such as practice gear, books, personal materials, and much more are a part of the everyday essentials that they will need throughout the course of each sports season.

Being that the population we serve is not financially in a position to invest in a good traveling bag for our athletes, and would be very beneficial to have these bags for all of our young ladies.

Some circumstances due to COVID-19 have restricted and limited our athletes to not be able to use their lockers in the locker room. These duffle bags will help tremendously in the ease of our athletes carrying their items from school to practices to games and more. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
