My Students
The students at our school are constantly working toward being stewards of our watershed, empowered decision makers, historians and conscientious community members. We are located in south-central Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park. We are an active, artsy, outdoorsy and environmentally aware community. Being engaged with our "backyard" keeps us connected to our community.
Our daily goal is to explore learning through personal experience and modeling.
My Project
Our school library wants to educate the next generation of learners with access to high quality literature. We need books that address the inequalities between people. The library is looking for books that help learners process racism, bigotry and injustice. Reading about the legacy of civil rights activists may empower the next generation of leaders eliminate racism.
Reading books creates personal empowerment.
Our library needs to expand its topic offering to reflect our modern changing world. Learners need access to diverse reading material. COVID has some students feeling pulled apart. Now is the time to teach coming together.
