This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Were you ever nervous to go to school? Did you get butterflies in your stomach every time you heard, "Time for school!"? Well, that's exactly how students who are being bullied in school feel every time they hear the word "School."

I know of students that have even been followed home and confronted by their bully.

The only thing that saved them was when their grandma came out and yelled, "What's going on here?" How scary is that? This is why I am so adamant about making children, especially my students, aware of what a bully is, what to do when they are being bullied, and how to avoid turning into a bully themselves. My students are English Language Learners attending a public school in California. Our school is a Title 1 school and the majority of the students qualify for free lunch. They come from low income families where both parents work in order to maintain their household. Since they are English Language Learners, they need as many visual aides and interactions when learning as possible to make their learning more meaningful and comprehensible.

My Project

My students need an Epson WorkForce 30 Printer to print their Anti-Bullying reports. We also need 2 iPad cases, the Bullying in Schools book, iPod cases and an OtterBox. With the "Bullying in Schools" book you so kindly donate to our classroom, my students will be able to read what a bully is, brainstorm strategies of how to deal with a bully, and evaluate whether they are a bully themselves. After reading about bullying my students will be able to write an individualized plan for themselves of what to do when being bullied, which they will print out with the help of the Epson WorkForce 30 printer. The Epson WorkForce 30 printer will also help my students print the anti-bullying electronic reports they will be creating, with our classroom iPads, to present across grade levels to create school wide awareness and prevention of bullying. Currently, they are unable to print anything because we lack printers.The iPad cases,iPod cases and the OtterBox will protect our class iPads and iPods from accidental damage. We need them safe to be able to research information about bullying online and for my students to create their electronic reports this year.

With your generous donations, I will be able to teach my students about bullying, the strategies that will prevent them from becoming a bully's victim, and they will be able to print out Anti-Bullying electronic reports to present to their peers to stop Bullying in school.

This will enable them to have a love for school and a clear mind for learning instead of on what will happen to them during recess, lunch, or afterschool. Children need to be worry free to learn! Thank You Donors in Advance!
