it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students come to us with such curiosity as to what it means to program a computer. Over the course of four years, some students become the hard core 10,000 line coders, others focus more on design and try to imagine new ways to infuse technology into our lives, while others find that though they like computers this is not the field for them. Regardless of what route a student takes, they all leave with a foundation and appreciation for computer science. Sometimes students write back that something they learned in a computer class has helped them out in college or that they have decided to pursue some aspect of computer science or information systems because of their experiences in high school.
My Project
Until recently students only viewed virtual reality as another gaming platform used by students with money. Through various career fairs and events, students have witnessed the use of virtual reality by companies and organizations which has opened their eyes to the possibilities beyond games. Students marveled at its application as they virtually visited a museum, watched a basketball game and took a tour of a house for sale.
Using a JavaScript frameworks such as AFrame.js, students will learn the fundamentals of working in a virtual world using 3D models, camera views and behaviors.
Having mastered the fundamentals, students will progress to Unity 3D and produce more intricate and engaging worlds. Students have aspirations to create a virtual gallery walk of artwork produced by students at the school as well as a replica of the school that can be used by new students in order to become familiar with the school.
