My students need cotton balls, plastic wrap, vinegar, modeling clay, salt, craft sticks, pH paper, and a pollution lab kit in order to study environmental science.
Middle School students are fascinated by their environment! They want to know how it works, what impacts it, and what they can do to help their environment. There are many factors, such as acid rain, that can be modeled in the classroom.
My students are bright, curious, and filled with leadership.
We are a middle school in Washington State. As a NASA Explorer School, we not only study our universe, but also study our home planet. By gaining an understanding of our home planet, we are better equipped to preserve our planet and also to extend our knowledge to planets around us.
My Project
Students will construct a cloud in a bottle by using saran wrap, a bowl, gravel, water, and a rock. They will design and carry out acid rain investigations using vinegar, thermometers, and pH paper. Their excitement will soar as they also design and construct buildings equipped to withstand nature's forces! The pollution lab kit will enable us to carry out whole class investigations with respect to the effect of pollution on our water supply, buildings, and more.
You can help to equip the next generation of explorers with the tools and knowledge that they will need to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Your support will enable our class to carry our many environmental investigations and will also facilitate discussion of positive change.
