Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I thought food was made in the store." (Actual student quote).
Due to the pandemic, students are taking more of an interest in being an active participant and learning from their own environment, but don't have the resources to do so.
The grow tent system, CO2 detector, and technologies will enable multiple classrooms of specially gifted 5th-12th graders learn sustainable food practices, how plants produce oxygen and reduce airborne particles, plant and soil mutation, composting and conduct projects on natural air and water filters, bio gas, plant soil cleansing, making better plant protein sources, and more! These students will also learn STEM technologies and skills to help them in STEM occupations in the future, with older students tutoring younger students using their projects.
