Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are juniors and seniors in an AP Environmental course. They are choosing to take this rigorous class and exam. Each student in this course has high hopes of going to college, but first getting college credit by earning a 3 or higher on the AP exam.
The students are learning how to be environmentally conscious while working hard towards scoring on their AP exams.
The students quickly becomes advocates in their homes, school, and community through this AP Environmental course. This course helps them becoming extremely civically engaged and environmental advocates.
My Project
The students will utilize the books as reading material in the AP Environmental course. They will close read and annotate this book on a regular basis. This book becomes the student's lifeline while studying.
This book does a great job at including case studies and environmental disasters in the US and the world.
This allows the students to relate and create their own opinions on the controversial topics.
The students are extremely hard working, and along with the books, they will be adequately equipped to be successful on the AP exam in May. Each student's goal is to get a 3+ on the exam.
