I work every day with students that are struggling readers. They want to read more and become better readers, so we work on the foundations that they are lacking.
My goal is to build confidence!
I want the kids to read and participate in activities outside of their regular classroom work.
They love positive attention and the feeling of accomplishments so I would like to work as a group and read chapter books to build their self-esteem.
Readers make better learners and learners love to read!
My Project
Our room needs brightened up and some pep to it. The colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling will be inviting and bright for the students to feel welcomed. The lamps will give a warm feeling to the room. It will be a warm and comfortable place for the kids to want to learn and grow.
The kids will want to practice their reading skills while sitting on the new wobble chairs under the lanterns.
This setting will encourage all of the kids to cozy up, grab a book and practice all of the skills they have learned. I believe I will have to pry the kids out of the room once it is complete!
