My Students
A typical day in my 12+1+1 self-contained classroom for students with special needs can be demanding and stimulating. I am on my feet all day. My days are spent constantly redirecting my student’s behaviors, teaching them to meet the academic needs of each individual student, and giving out rewards.
The students of my special education classroom are incredible wonderful, but more importantly, they are so interested and eager to learn.
They have and want to learn, but just need some basic supplies to facilitate their learning outcomes.
The students at our school are struggling to receive the best education possible while dealing with the circumstances of living a poor and over crowded school district. Our school has a very high poverty rate. We are a Title 1 School and have close to 100% free lunch servings. Our school has nearly 1000 students from various and similar backgrounds with single parents, homelessness, or are in foster care.
My Project
The manila envelopes will be used to differentiate and target all of my students with disabilities needs. These envelopes will be used for task cards in student centers, they will be use to gather small lose parts of an assignment that may have not been completed due to time like cut and paste assignments. Also, to also hold flashcards and other learning tools. Not only does it benefit the student academically but it validates how important organization is to being successful in school, college and career readiness. The Velcro tabs will be used to close envelopes.
