My Project
I teach at a small middle school in a small school district. The district I teach in only has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. The majority of the students live in poverty and are homeless. What I mean by homeless is that the parent(s) and the children are living with other relatives, because they do not have a home of their own. The middle school I teach at is a Title I school, which means that we receive funds from the government to get some of the resources that we need. In addition, the students all receive free lunch and breakfast every day.
My students are the BEST students in the world, and they have worked extremely hard this entire year.
My students need to honored for the hard work that they have put into this school year. By honoring them at the end of the school year, that builds a positive climate and environment for my students. Who doesn't like being in the spotlight and being honored for all your great accomplishments? My students need and should have this feeling, and these certificates would help me continue to build that positive climate and environment I'm striving to build for my students. In addition, I want to present my 8th graders with nice certificates and certificate holders for their Pledge to Graduate certificates, which will be presented to them during their Honor's Night.
