Entrepreneurship in Action: The T-Shirt Business Project

Help me give my students a sawgrass sublimation printer, and the ink so that the students can create their own designs and then see their design be printed for purchase in their entrepreneur class.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our entrepreneurial and marketing students are eager to bring their creativity to life by launching a student-run T-shirt business using a sublimation printer. This technology would allow them to design, print, and produce high-quality, custom apparel right in the classroom. With hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment, students will learn the entire product development cycle—from design and production to pricing, marketing, and sales. For students in a low-income community, this kind of real-world, project-based learning is an opportunity they don’t often get, and it can have a lasting impact on their confidence, skills, and future career paths.

Our goal is to help students understand what it takes to start and run a business, while also providing them with valuable technical and creative skills.

This project will give them ownership over something meaningful and show them that with the right tools and knowledge, they can turn ideas into income. Whether they choose to pursue entrepreneurship or work in a creative field, the lessons they learn here—such as teamwork, budgeting, branding, and customer engagement—will serve them well for years to come.

What makes our students truly special is their determination and drive, despite the challenges they face outside the classroom. Many of them are looking for ways to build a better future not only for themselves but also for their families. Giving them access to a sublimation printer would not only level the playing field, but empower them to see what’s possible with hard work, imagination, and support. With your help, we can give them the tools to dream big and take the first steps toward becoming the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
