Enriching the Curriculum with Art, Music & Technology

My students need Crayola DigiTools, a printer and the piano to express themselves through art. My students need the Osmo Gaming Genius Kit to enrich our curriculum.

My Students

My students are part of our schools gifted and talented program. They come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. They are very eager learners and love to be enriched through the arts. We have recently received iPads and would like to use them to enhance the curriculum with art and music.

My students are very independent learners and seek to enrich their learning through the use of technology.

We have been using technology to support literacy and math skills. We would also like to enhance learning through artistic expression. Our school has a music specialist however, my students are not part of her program. We have been working on a play which includes acting and singing. I would also like them to be introduced to musical expression with the use of the iPad keyboard. The Osmo Gaming System seems perfect for independent and partnership learning.

My Project

My students will use the Crayola Digi Tools to assist them in illustrating the fairy tales they are writing in writing workshop. The printer will allow them to print their artistic creations. They will use the Osmo gaming system to help build vocabulary and increase their ability to spell with accuracy through the use of interactive games. They will also use it to build social skills as they work in partnerships. The math activities will help them learn how to manipulate objects and increase number sense with the use of manipulative so. They will use the piano apprentice to introduce them to how to play the piano. Most importantly all these resources will assist them in taking charge of their own learning.

Donating to this project will help my students become more independent in making decisions about their learning.

They will also be enriched with music and art in the classroom. These materials will help engage students in learning and working with their peers.
